Loan Agreement aimed at solving community problems in Yerevan endorsed

The Loan Agreement of Yerevan Urban Development Investment Project between the RA and the Asian Development Bank was signed on November 27, 2023: It is a loan guaranteed by the Government in order to solve the community problems in Yerevan. It has intermediate and final results: In particular, it refers to the solution of the existing problems in the field of road construction. The amount provided for in the Agreement is 60.090 million euros. The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan said this at the extraordinary sitting of the Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs on April 5. The draft law on ratifying the Loan Agreement of Yerevan Urban Development Investment Project between Armenia and the Asian Development Bank was debated.

The projects of constructing new roads and a new bridge on the Hrazdan River were presented, the purpose of which is to unload the city of Yerevan.

The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan, referring to the question by the MPs concerning the relief of the burden of the city, noted that several projects of unloading the city, road expansion, and road construction are currently being implemented. According to him, the project of Tbilisi, Yeghvard highways is in the practical stage of study. The construction project of Ajapnyak metro station is ready and is undergoing a simple examination. Issues of construction of roads bypassing Ulnetsi, Rubinyants, Zvartnots airport are being discussed.
