The Government proposes with the amendments to the law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status to specify the administration being carried out on postponement from conscription of compulsory military service for the learners without interruption with the general, preliminary (vocational) or secondary professional educational programmes. The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan voiced about this.
The Minister presented in detail the proposed amendments and noted that there were problematic provisions in the formulations.
The purpose of the amendments is not to endanger providing the postponement conditioned by the right to study uninterruptedly for the person, irrespective of the fact on what basis the previous postponement was given.
The Government proposed the deputies to hold the debate of the initiative in the second reading within 24 hours, after passing it in the first reading. The Head Committee approved the proposal.
The Committee members highlighted the adoption of the initiative.
The issue was debated at May 16 sitting of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport and was endorsed.
