The Government proposes to extend the term of entry into force of the law on Regulation of Arms Circulation, which is currently scheduled for 6 months after its official publication, on April 28. However, taking into consideration the fact of developing around 30 sub-legislative acts arising from the law, the Executive proposes to extend the validity period of the law until July 1, which will allow the full application of the law. The RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan stated about this.
The Deputy Minister presented the package of bills on Making Amendment and Addendum to the Law on Regulation of Arms Circulation and on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Licensing at the extraordinary sitting of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security in the second reading on April 25.
According to the rapporteur, the law will enter into force on the day following its official publication.
Arpine Sargsyan expressed readiness to debate the proposal of the Chair of the Committee Andranik Kocharyan regarding the possibility of reducing the deferred term, which was also highlighted by the Committee members, taking into account the security issues of the country.
According to the Deputy Chair of the Committee Armen Khachatryan, state administration bodies should meet the deadlines when carrying out administration.
The Committee did not receive any proposals from the first to the second reading.
The initiative was endorsed.
