Legislative Proposal Debated at NA Sitting: Some Kinds of Activity to Exempt from Notification Requirement

In case of being engaged with certain kinds of the activity, the Government proposes to reduce and simplify the administration, to support the entities being engaged with kinds of a series of activity subject to notification and promote the development of those spheres. Amendments and addenda to the laws on Notification of Activity Implementation and on State Duty are proposed for that purpose.

According to the RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, to separate, to specify the kinds of distilled alcoholic drinks production activity, to boost the production of separate kinds of alcoholic drinks more accessible rates of annual state duties were defined for getting the right to being engaged with their production activity.

Now 19 kinds of activity subject to notification are accounted by the Ministry of Economy. 6 out of them is proposed to remove with the drafts, liberalising the sphere, to change the other 6, to preserve 5 of them, and add one more.

The kinds of production activity of the whiskeys, rum, gin, spirit and other infusions and other spirit drinks containing up to 22% spirit were united, 3 million annual state duty was set for getting right to being engaged with it., which is significantly less than the previous limit.

The NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan welcomed the fact that the activity for business is simplified, but required from the member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Davit Arushanyan by the control being carried out in the consumer sphere, for example in case of selling alcohol drink or cigarettes what control toolset is applied?

The MP opined that the inspection bodies have essential things to do on that part, as often in the shops or entertainment centres, despite the restrictions being designed by law, the minors can get cigarettes and alcohol drinks. In this context the NA Vice President also raised the problem of billboards for alcohol drinks in the republic, noting that there should be strict measures in this aspect, too.
