In order to develop the fields of economy, science, education, culture, healthcare and sports, the legislative initiative proposed to expand the scope of persons receiving the citizenship in a simplified manner, who will have their contribution in a number of fields.
The bill envisages giving the RA Government the authority to define the description and assessment criteria of significant contribution in the above-mentioned fields. The RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan noted about this during the debate of the draft law in the first reading on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on RA Citizenship at the NA extraordinary session convened on July 6.
The proposed amendments and addenda will also ensure the compliance of the Law on RA Citizenship with the RA Constitution.
