Candidacies of Artur Davtyan, Naira Hovsepyan and Aghasi Mkoyan Nominated for the Vacant Position of the Judge of the Judicial Composition of Examination of Civil Cases of Anti-Corruption Chamber of Court of Cassation

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) nominated the candidacies of Artur Davt yan, Naira Hovsepyan and Aghasi Mk o yan for the vacant position of the judge of the judicial composition of the examination of the civil cases of the Anti-Corruption Chamber of the Court of Cassation. The item was debated by the established order of Article 135 of the Law NA Rules of Procedure at the extraordinary sitting of June 27.

The SJC member Davit Khachaturyan presented to the deputies the biographical data , the activities and passed path of the nominated candidates .

Presenting his vision, Artur Davtyan expressed his opinion that the judicial power as an independent branch, should make more efforts to promote the realization of the principle of the rule of law, the implementation of fair and unbiased justice in accordance with its mission.

Touching upon the implementation of the judicial justice, Artur Davtyan underlined that it is possible to assess the process efficiency only as a result of the whole procedure monitoring of the judicial acts and their establishment. He spoke about the problems demanding legislative solution and in this context emphasized the effective cooperation with the legislative body.

“The activities of the Anti-Corruption Court and the judges’ activities implies double responsibility, as the ideas, perceptions of the public towards the justice have been distorted through many years because of corruption risks. Therefore, the Anti-Corruption Court as a body implementing justice, in the issue of corruption crimes, their implementation shall show zero tolerance, which can be a basis for excluding the corruption schemes, institutes,” Artur Davtyan said.

The nominated other candidate Naira Hovsepyan works in the judicial system for more than 26 years. To her assessment, the law passes a test in the court of the First Instance, as the judge of the First Instance sees the gaps of the law. According to the candidate, being a judge of the Court of the First Instance, he repeatedly voiced about these problems, as a result of which legislative solutions were given.

Aghasi Mkoyan t eferred to the overloading problem of the courts, in this issue highlighted the practical participation of the legislative body. He assured that he will invest his knowledge and experience for the benefit of the establishment and development of the Anti-Corruption Chamber .
