“The library of parliament supports the increase of the efficiency of the work of the deputies,” the librarian of the National Assembly Fatma Khachatryan said during the meeting with Maria Kamilaki, the Head of the Library Department of the Hellenic Parliament, and Georgios Angelopoulos, the General Director of the General Directorate for Electronic Governance, Library and Publications of the Hellenic Parliament, within the framework of the Twinning Project “Strengthening the capacity of the National Assembly of Armenia to further support CEPA oversight and implementation”.
On May 11, they were in the library of the National Assembly on a cognitive visit.
Fatma Khachatryan presented the functions and work of the library in detail. She informed that the library has a total collection of about 15000 units, and the collection of magazines is about 3000 units. At the guests’ request, she referred to the interlibrary relations of the republic. She underlined that professional solidarity between the libraries continues, which, according to her, gives an opportunity to satisfy the requirement for the information exchange. The strengthening of the parliament-civil society relations was highlighted.
“I think that the libraries of our parliaments can become a platform for cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries,” Maria Kamilaki, the Head of the Library Department of the Hellenic Parliament, said and noted that they had an effective meeting in the NA library.
Georgios Angelopoulos, the General Director of the General Directorate for Electronic Governance, Library and Publications of the Hellenic Parliament, shared his impressions. He stated that they will try to cooperate in different directions - to exchange books and develop legislative initiatives etc.
