On October 28, in Tavricheskiy Palace of Saint Petersburg the Vice President of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan took part in the meetings of the Joint Commission at the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) CIS for the Harmonization of National Laws Related to Security, Countering Emerging Threats and Challenges and the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues. Hakob Arshakyan was elected Deputy Chair of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues.

A number of model legal document draft being revised by the Commissions were debated. The main part of the proposals submitted by the Armenian side was reflected in the approved drafts.

A decision was made to pass the remarks and proposals to those revising the drafts to debate at the next meetings
