National Assembly Debates NA Draft Decision on Setting Number of Members of Inquiry Committee

During the October 26 regular sittings, the parliament debated the NA Draft Decision proposed by the NA Armenia and With Honor Factions on Setting the number of members of Inquiry Committee for Studying the Use of Funds Collected by the "Hayastan" All - Armenian Fund and Transferred to the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia.

The main rapporteur Hayk Mamijanyan informed that from the first days of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan on 27 September 2020, the Hayastan Fund envisaged We Are Our Borders fundraising, as a result of which, later 52 bln AMD was transferred to the RA State Budget from the fundraised money. “There is a public opinion that this money has been used inefficiently,” he said, adding that the aim of the Inquiry Committee is to debate that item and shed light on what happened.

The Inquiry Committee created by the requirement of the law will have 11 members.

The debate of the item will continue at October 27 NA sitting.

The parliament debated the NA Draft Decision on Holding an urgent debate on a topic of public interest on the situation on the line of contact of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the demarcation problems at a closed sitting.

According to the Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure, the NA deputies made announcements at the last sitting.
