RA NA President Alen Simonyan Meets with Foreign Minister of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides

On October 25, the delegation led by the President of the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan met with the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides.

The RA NA President highly appreciated the effective cooperation of two countries in bilateral and multilateral format. He mainly highlighted the quick launch of the format of the parliamentary cooperation among Cyprus-Armenia-Greece, especially in the situation created after the 44-day war. In this context ideas were exchanged on the issues of the regional security and stability.

The sides referred to the problem of Cyprus. The RA NA President has noted that Armenia will continue to support Cyprus in the international organizations, and it is in favour of peaceful settlement of the problem through negotiations, accepting the principles of the UN resolutions as a basis. The Foreign Minister of Cyprus specially underlined the priceless role of the Armenian community in public and political life of the Cyprus.

The full implementation of the possibilities of the Armenia-European Union Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement in the context of the development of Armenia-European Union relations were touched upon.

The interlocutors discussed the investment opportunities of the Cypriot side, highlighting the economic and tourism cooperation with Cyprus.
