Agreement on Cooperation of CIS States in Fight Against Crimes in the Field of Computer Information Debated

At October 19 extraordinary sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security moderated by Andranik Kocharyan debated the legislative initiative on Ratifying the Agreement on cooperation of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in fight against crimes in the field of computer information.

The Deputy Head of the RA Police Ara Fidanyan informed that the Agreement was signed by Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan already ratified it. The goal of the Agreement is to create legal bases for the cooperation between parties’ legal enforcement bodies in fight against crimes in the field of computer information.

In the co-report the Committee member Vahagn Aleksanyan proposed his colleagues to vote for it.

The Committee endorsed the legislative proposal.
