RA NA President Alen Simonyan Receives Delegation Led by IRI Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri

On October 13, the NA President Alen Simonyan received the Delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Mohammad Jafar Montazeri.

The NA President has underlined that during the last years the political dialogue has considerably activated between two countries, which is a firm basis for the development of the inter-state relations in different spheres. Alen Simonyan expressed conviction that the visit of Mohammad Jafar Montazeri would have its contribution to the strengthening of the bilateral friendly relations.

With regards to the deepening of the mutually beneficial collaboration, highlighting the inter-parliamentary cooperation, Alen Simonyan has assured that as Head of the legislative body, he is ready to support the implementation of any initiative stemming from the interests of two countries.

According to the NA President, the cooperation between Armenia and Iran can serve as a good example for the countries being led by the agenda of dialogue on peace, development between civilizations.

According to the Head of the RA legislative body, in the issue of the establishment of the tension decrease and stability, the role and potential of Iran is evident, and its vivid example is the distinct position of Iran on the inviolability of the RA borders.

Issues on peace and stability of the region, including the arrest of the Iranian drivers of the two trucks in Goris-Kapan road section of Vorotan village by the police of Azerbaijan were touched upon.

In the context of the development of the inter-state relations Mohammad Jafar Montazeri underscored the key role of parliament. Considering the security of the region of priority, the Prosecutor General of Iran emphasized the fight against the penetration of the terrorist groups. According to him, for Iran its security and the neighbours’ security is very important and inter-connected. It has been recorded that only in the conditions of lasting stable security in the region the effective development of bilateral and multi-lateral relations is possible.
