On October 7, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Armen Gevorgyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin.

Welcoming the Ambassador, the Committee Chair highlighted the development of the Armenian-Russian friendly and allied relations, underlined the necessity of the cooperation between the Committees of Parliaments of two countries.

Ambassador Kopyrkin has congratulated Armen Gevorgyan on being elected the Committee Chair, noting that there are opportunities to have parliamentary cooperation and joint works based on warm partnership relations and formed traditions.

Armen Gevorgyan spoke about the upcoming works of the Committee. He has informed that the problems on the Eurasian economic cooperation are at the center of attention of the Committee. Next week, discussions are planned related to the up-to-date problems of the participation in state procurements and the market access of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the implementation of the investment programmes for the largest industrial construction.

A number of sectoral issues and agenda items were also touched upon.
