At October 4 sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Protection, chaired by Vahe Ghalumyan, debated the draft law on Amending the RA Law on Financial Equalization by which the equalization subsidies allocated to the communities in 2017 and the following years are calculated and allocated not less than the actual subsidies allocated in 2016.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan has noted that the draft does not envisage amendments of policy to be implemented by the RA Government in the field of financial equalization. The policy implemented in this field is aimed at financial equalization of the communities and the proportionate socio-economic development. “The enactment of the law will ensure the balance of allocating subsidies to all communities,” the Deputy Minister said.

As a result of debate and voting, the legislative initiative was endorsed to be included in the agendas of the NA session and coming regular sittings.

The debate of the draft laws on Making Addenda to the Law on RA Budget System and on Making Addendum to the Law on Local Self-Government was postponed up to three months.
