On October 1, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care Narek Zeynalyan and the Deputy Chair of the Committee Lusine Badalyan met with the representatives of the Executive Board of the Armenian Medical Association.

Welcoming the guest, Narek Zeynalyan highlighted the role of the medical associations in the civilized world. The aim of the meeting was to develop and to create sufficient legislative bases to ensure the complete activity of the structure. As he has observed, certain criteria of the association activities should be developed.

The Chair of the Armenian Medical Association Armen Soghoyan thanked the MPs for the meeting, highlighting the attention of the legislative body towards the structure. He presented their activities referring to the existing problems.

The representatives of the executive board exchanged ideas related to the legislative bases, rights, duties, the development of certain criteria, the cooperation with the institutions ensuring medical education, doctors’ protection and issues on professional ethics.

According to Armen Soghoyan, realistic successes will be recorded having the support of the executive and legislative bodies. An agreement was reached to organize discussions about the specified programmes in the near future.
