NA President Visits RA National Hero Karen Demirchyan Museum

On September 28, the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan visited the RA National Hero Karen Demirchyan Museum.

The NA President accompanied by the Museum Director Vahagn Mamyan took a tour in the main exhibition hall, getting acquainted with the exhibits concerning the life and activities of Demirchyan state and political figure.

8000 exhibits regarding Karen Demirchyan, which were put together during 20 years of the creation and activities of the Museum, are kept there. Karen Demirchyan’s personal archive is also in the Museum fund. Alen Simonyan was interested especially in an episode from his office during the years when he was in the office of the First Secretary of the Armenian Communist Party Central Committee and the RA NA President, and its furniture was brought to the Museum from the administrative building of the nowadays Parliament.

The NA President left a note in the Book of Memory and had a private conversation with Karen Demirchyan’s widow, Rima Demirchyan.

At the end of the meeting Mrs Rima presented to Alen Simonyan books dedicated to Karen Demirchyan, wishing him fruitful work.
