Parliament Passes Legislative Package Envisaging Amendments and Addendum to Law on Anti-Corruption Committee and enclosed ones in First Reading

At September 24 extraordinary sitting, parliament debated in the first reading the legislative package envisaging Amendments and Addendum to the Law on Anti-Corruption Committee and the enclosed ones authored by the NA Civil Contract Faction Vahagn Hovakimyan and Vladimir Vardanyan.

The key rapporteur Vahagn Hovakimyan informed that the initiative was debated and prepared with the partners of the Anti-Corruption Committee and the Ministry of Justice. It is proposed to increase the number of persons holding 20 autonomous vacancies in the Committee also with 10, which will promote the effectiveness of corruption crime investigations at the beginning of the formation of the Committee.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Grigoryan presented the positive position of the Government on the initiative. As he informed, an agreement was reached to remove from the package from the first to the second reading and debate in other format the section of the regulations on the long-term service working pension.

As a result of voting, the package of bills was passed in the first reading.
