1 / 18

On September 13, the parliament debated the report on the activities of the RA Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The key rapporteur the CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan presented the report on the RA NA snap elections of June 20, 2021.

To the CEC Chairman’s observation, the national snap elections essentially differed from the regular elections. It was for the first time that elections should be held amid the pandemic.

On the voting day, at the Committee the all-day round briefing covering the electoral process was organized, and its goal was to carry out full transparency and coverage provision of the process.

As Tigran Mukuchyan presented, 8411 local and international observers and 1819 mass media representatives visited 1779 electoral polling stations.

The Committee received four applications on recognizing invalid the results of the NA snap elections of June 20, 2021. The submitted applications were debated at the sitting summarizing the results of June 27, 2021. The N 184 A decision adopted on the NA snap election results of June 20, 2021 was litigated at the RA Constitutional Court. On June 17, 2021 the Constitutional Court left unchanged the CEC decision by the CCL 16.06 decision.
