Government Proposes to Amend Laws on Automobile Transport and Enclosed Ones

At July 30 extraordinary session, the Parliament debated in the second reading the legislative package on Making Amendment and Addenda to the RA Law on Automobile Transport, on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Ensuring Road Safety and on Making Amendments to the RA Code on Administrative Offenses.

The necessity to adopt the initiative is conditioned by the implementation of the roadmap events and the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement signed between the EU and the European Atomic Energy Community and its member states. It is envisaged by the legislative amendment to define rest and work periods of time of drivers and to apply the system of digital tachograph in modes of transportation carrying out public transportation and cargo transportation.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hakob Vardanyan noted that the Government proposed certain amendments after the first reading which were accepted by the NA Head Committee.

The requirements for carrying out inspection were defined.

The Member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Hayk Tsirunyan presented the endorsement to the parliament.

As a result of voting, the legislative package was adopted.
