On November 8, the Head of the RA NA My Step Faction Lilit Makunts, the members of the Faction Gayane Abrahamyan, Maria Karapetyan,, Narek Mkrtchyan, the Secretary of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction Arman Abovyan, the Member of the Faction Shake Isayan and the Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan met with the members of the delegation led by the Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Baroness Caroline Cox.

Welcoming the Baroness and the members of the delegation in parliament, the representatives of the parliamentary factions highly assessed Caroline Cox’s pro-Armenian activities, her faithfulness to universal human values, principles of democracy and warm attitude towards our country and people.

The Head of the RA NA My Step Faction Lilit Makunts presented in detail the war situation created because of Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression. Speaking about targeting the civilian population and civil infrastructures of Artsakh, Lilit Makunts noted that the armed forces of Azerbaijan also involved in the military actions through Turkey the mercenary terrorists. The Head of the faction has underlined that a policy of ethnic cleansing and annihilation is carried out against Armenians of Artsakh. Azerbaijan with Turkey takes ferocious actions by using banned weapons.

The Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan thanked Baroness Caroline Cox for being next to Armenia at such difficult moment. He noted that the Armenians of Artsakh  are in a war of being saved from the regular genocide, and we should make efforts to stop this disaster.

The Secretary of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction Arman Abovyan highlighted the awareness on the problem to their British counterparts and the international organisations. He has noted that Turkey has started a war of Armenian people's annihilation, documenting that Azerbaijan simply fulfills the demand of Turkey. Underscoring the key role of Turkey, the rapporteur has stated that the military management of all processes is carried out with the participation of the Turkish high-ranking officials. According to him, the South Caucasus is flooded with extremist mercenary terrorists, and serious threats of regional security exist.

Presenting details about the genocide being committed against the Armenian people during the war, the Member of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Gayane Abrahamyan emphasized the issue of imposing sanctions on Turkey. She also talked about the problem of suspending the arms sales to the countries backing terrorism. The rapporteur stressed the issue of the international recognition of the independence of the Artsakh Republic.

The Member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Maria Karapetyan noted that the history of the last decades had shown that Artsakh could not be part of Azerbaijan. Speaking about the continuity of the genocide policy implemented by Turkey, she has stressed the in the 21^st century the genocide has the character that happens in Artsakh. According to her, it is obvious that newest super equipment is used in the military operations.

Touching upon the use of the banned chemical weapon and the war atrocities by Azerbaijan the MPs Shake Isayan and Narek Mkrtchyan noted that they should make efforts in breaking silence of the international community.

Baroness Caroline Cox thanked the MPs for the reception and presenting in detail the situation, underlining her concern about the continuing military actions. She has noted that she observes with great grief and anxiety the terrible phenomena, taking place in Artsakh. She has informed that British journalists are also in the delegation, who have wished to get acquainted with the situation on the spot.

Baroness Caroline Cox made a personal statement on the situation in Artsakh, published information, announcements and condemned the tortures committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces, the murder of the peaceful population and bombing of the maternity hospital.

“The world has a great debt of gratitude to the people of Armenia and Artsakh, who have kept the frontline of faith and freedom for the rest of the world,” Baroness Caroline Cox said.

The parliamentarians answered to the questions of the delegation members, which related to the recognition of the Artsakh Republic and the guarantees of the Artsakh Armenians' security.
