On September 10, the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment moderated by Varazdat Karapetyan convened a sitting.

Varazdat Karapetyan congratulated the MPs on beginning the works of the Committee, wishing all of them fruitful activity.

The Committee Chair informed that the RA NA deputy Sergey Bagratyan had gone out of the Committee. Assessing the MP’s contribution to the works of the Committee, Varazdat Karapetyan wished him successes.

The RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction nominated Vardevan Grigoryan’s candidacy for the post of the Committee Deputy Chair. Vardevan Grigoryan was elected Committee Deputy Chair by voting.

The Committee in the second reading debated the draft laws on Making Addendum to the RA Land Code and on Making Amendment and Addenda to the Law on Local Self-Government and endorsed them.

The Committee debated in the first reading the draft law on Responsible Attitude towards Animals and the enclosed presented package of draft laws authored by the RA NA deputies Meri Galstyan, Lena Nazaryan.

The questions addressed to the key speaker related to the destiny of the stray dogs and the animal fighting prohibition.

In their speeches the MPs highlighted the necessity of the draft law, assessing the authors’ work done.

By the authors’ proposal the voting of the package of the draft laws was postponed.

Afterwards the Committee debated the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Water Code authored by the Government. The Chairman of the RA Water Commission Karen Sargsyan presented details on the current situation of the drainage systems of the republic, the problems, financing from the state budget for the cleaning, repairing and maintenance of the drainage systems of the republic by the state mid-term expenditure programme.

Sisak Gabrielyan presented the draft law on Making Amendment and Addenda to the Law on Social Support of the Border Communities authored by the RA NA deputies Sisak Gabrielyan, Sipan Pashinyan.

The key speaker the Acting Deputy Minister of Environment Irian Ghaplanyan proposed to vote and endorsed the draft law on Freedom of Information, and when the draft law on Ecological Information would be ready, and then relevant references would be made.

The Head of the Inspection Bodies’ Coordination Bureau of the Office of the RA Prime Minister Artur Asoyan presented for the Committee members’ debate the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Environmental Control.

Varazdat Karapetyan presented to the Committee members the draft law on making Amendment and Addenda to the Law on State Non Commercial Organizations in the first reading procedure authored by the RA NA deputies Varazdat Karapetyan, Lilit Makunts, Heriknaz Tigranyan.

The abovementioned draft laws were endorsed.
