Issues on Armenian-British Parliamentary Cooperation Discussed

On September 9, the Head of the RA NA My Step Faction, Armenia-Great Britain Friendship Group Lilit Makunts, the Group members Sos Avetisyan, Sargis Khandanyan and Taron Simonyan met with the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia Helen Fazey.

Speaking about the cooperation between the two countries' parliaments, the interlocutors highlighted the formation and effective cooperation of Great Britain-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Lilit Makunts noted that she had an online meeting with the Head of Great Britain-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Tim Loughton and expressed hope that in the near future such meeting would take place between the members of the two countries' Friendship Groups.

The RA NA deputies thanked their British colleagues for their position, who sent a letter to the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Dominic Raab, condemning the aggression by Azerbaijan towards Armenia.

The members of Armenia-Great Britain Friendship Group also expressed their gratitude to Tim Loughton for the exceptional interview given to the Public TV Company of Armenia.

The RA NA deputies Sos Avetisyan and Sargis Khandanyan underlined that especially after the revolution new perspectives of cooperation were opened. The experience of Great Britain in different spheres with international counterparts was emphasized, in that context considering necessary the activation of contacts and exchange of experience between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups.

Helen Fazey expressed readiness to support the cooperation for making more effective the cooperation of the two countries' parliaments.
