A Number of Legislative Initiatives on the Activity of Eurasian Economic Union Debated

At May 22 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration moderated by Mikayel Melkumyna the drat law on Ratifying the Agreement on the Mechanism of Postponing the Import of the Goods to the Customs Territory of the Eurasian Economic Union was debated. The key speaker, the RA Deputy Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Mikayel Pashayan has noted that the goal of the Agreement signed in Nur-Sultan on 20 May 2019 is to oppose effectively against the possible mechanism of avoiding the customs and tax payments.

Highlighting the ratification of the Agreement in terms of the RA pursued foreign policy the Key speaker proposed to endorse the draft law.

The RA Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan presented for debate of the Committee members the draft law on Ratifying the Protocol of the Republic of Armenia on Amending the Treaty of 10 October 2014 on Joining the Treaty of 20 May 2014 on the Eurasian Economic Union.

Afterwards the RA Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan presented the draft law on Making Amendments to Joining the Treaty of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan of 29 May 2014 on the Eurasian Economic Union and on Ratifying the Protocol on Amending the Acts of the of the Eurasian Economic Union Bodies related to Joining the Treaty of 8 May 2015.

The questions addressed to Varos Simonyan referred to the choice of the kinds of goods included in the consumer basket and in case of possible price cuts of the adoption of the draft laws.

The debated three legislative initiatives were endorsed.
