On April 6, at the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Naira Zohrabyan, the bill on Making Addendum to the RA Labor Code authored by the deputy of the NA My Step Faction Rustam Bakoyan was debated in the first reading and endorsed.

The author proposed the MPs to give the national minorities the right to have non-paid holidays not more than four days annually for marking their religious holidays or historical dates. According to the MP, there are 11 national minorities in Armenia.

According to the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arman Udumyan, the executive body presented a number of proposals, which were accepted by the author. The employer could demand in written form substantiation in written form from the employee for providing the designed holidays.

The law shall enter into force on the tenth day following the day of its official publication.
