Parliament Ends Work of Extraordinary Sitting

On March 23, the National Assembly continued the work of the extraordinary sitting convened on March 20, where by the presentation of the RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, the package of bills on Making Addenda to the RA Criminal Code and on Making Addenda to the RA Code on Administrative Offences authored by the Government was debated.

The RA draft law on Making Addenda to the RA Criminal Code proposes to target two objects: the person’s health and the health of the population.

According to the key speaker, the adoption of the draft laws will ensure the due implementation of the legal regime of the state of emergency, necessary preconditions will be created for giving adequate assessment towards the encroachments aimed at the person’s health and the health of the population. The regulations will enter into force immediately after the official issuance.

The MP Sisak Gabrielyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee. He informed that as a result of joint debates, almost all proposals introduced by the opposition factions had been accepted.

The parliament in the second reading and completely passed the debated legislative package.

Covering the agenda, the National Assembly ended the work of the extraordinary sitting.
