Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait

On March 2, the Head of the RA NA Armenia-Kuwait Friendship Group Gor Gevorgyan, the Group members, the deputies of the RA NA My Step Faction Narek Mkrtchyan, Lusine Badalyan, the deputy of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Gurgen Baghdasaryan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait Nawaf Alenezi.

Highlighting the partnership relations with the countries of the region, the Head of the Friendship Group has noted that in general, the Armenians occupy a special place in the Near East, and they are historically connected with the Arab people. As Gor Gevorgyan presented, in 1994 relevant documents on the launch of the diplomatic relations was signed between Armenia and the State of Kuwait, in 2002 Armenia-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group was formed, in 2011 the Embassy of Kuwait was founded in Armenia. He has noted that Armenia is concerned about deepening the relations with Kuwait in the political, parliamentary, economic planes, has underlined that there are wide perspectives of development of cooperation in a number of spheres.

The Head of the Friendship Group thanked the Ambassador for showing moderate and constructive position in Karabakh conflict. He has assured that the RA National Assembly is ready for close cooperation with the State of Kuwait.

Nawaf Alenezi highlighted the further development of the inter-parliamentary relations and the role of the Friendship Groups in that issue. Speaking about the opportunities of the use of the trade-economic potential between the two countries, the Ambassador touched upon the possible cooperation, investments in the spheres of agriculture, tourism and education.

The MPs exchanged ideas on agriculture, road construction, the organization of Yerevan-Kuwait direct flights, over the issues regarding the involvement of Armenian specialists in the Kuwait labour market.
