Workshop in Parliament

On February 27, on the initiative of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and with the support of the Asian Development Bank in the parliament a workshop was held on the theme The Procedures of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Legislation and the International Experience , where representatives, experts from the Asian Development Bank, the RA Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, the Municipality of Yerevan and deputies took part.

By the presentation of the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan, the RA Law on Public-Private Partnership passed in 2019 needs regulation. at the phase of the elaboration of the bill the experts of the Bank organized seminar-discussions, where the content of the law, the main problems and perspectives were presented. During two-day workshop the concept, the Armenian legislation, the legal framework of regulation, the elaboration and the rules, procedures and international experience concerning the implementation is designed to present.

The Head of Armenia Country Director of the Asian Development Bank Paolo Spantigati has noted that they have great experience and he has expressed readiness for support in the process of elaboration pf the new legal regulations, which would promote the effective implementation of the PPP programs in Armenia.

During the workshop a number of programs were presented, the advantages of the Public-Private Partnership, the shortcomings and risk factors were discussed and the issues on the legal and institutional regulations were touched upon.

The workshop will continue on February 28.
