On February 20, the members of the delegation led by the Speaker of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan being on an official visit in the Kingdom of Denmark Gayane Abrahamyan, Gevorg Papoyan and Nora Arustamyan met with the Justice Anne Louise Bormann in the Supreme Court of Denmark and discussed the procedure of judiciary system reforms in Armenia and the situation created over the Constitutional Court.
According to the Justice of the Supreme Court, one of the fundamental principles of the fairness of the judicial system is being deprived of the political positions, and in case of crises listen to the people’s voice, and the referendum in public wide consensus can be decisive.
The Justice Anne Louise Bormann also talked about the authorities of the Supreme Court or the Constitutional Courts, opining that presenting a preliminary opinion on the Constitutional amendments and conditioning the procedure of the amendments by it seriously restricts not only the authorities of the parliaments, but also the right to the people’s free will. According to the Justice, the authorities of the highest instance and the authority of the oversight should be very balanced.
