Members of Armenia-UAE Friendship Group Meet with Ambassador

On February 12, the members of the RA NA Armenia-United Arab Emirates (UAE) Friendship Narek Zeynalyan, Hrant Madatyan, Janibek Hayrapetyan, Artashes Petrosyan, Sergey Movsisyan and Anna Kostanyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia Muhammed Isa Al-Zaabi.

Welcoming the Ambassador the Head of the Friendship Group Narek Zeynalyan has noted that the regularly holding business forums, the bilateral tourism, the air flights, the availability of the Armenian community of about 6000 members, etc testify to the relations formed between the two countries.

Narek Zeynalyan has documented that about 20 enterprises function in Armenia with the Arab capital. He has assured that after the Velvet revolution favourable environment for the investments has been formed in Armenia.

Ambassador Muhammed Isa Al-Zaabi excellently has qualified the bilateral relations and has noted that his country highlights the cooperation with Armenia, particularly in the cultural, educational, humanitarian, as well as newest technological spheres. He has informed that the UAE is interested in the activity of Tumo Creative Centre and wishes to have such Centre in his country.

Touching the tourism registering growth year by year the Ambassador has noted that Armenia is a secure country, and his compatriots come to Armenia with their families. Narek Zeynalyan informed the Ambassador that more than 11.000 tourists visited Armenia from the UAE in the previous year.

The interlocutors also discussed issues relating to the cooperation on the inter-parliamentary platform.

The Ambassador has stated that the UAE is interested in the parliamentary experience of Armenia therefore the mutual visits and the contacts with the parliamentarians can be effective.

In this context issues concerning the creation of the UAE-Armenia Friendship Group were discussed. Both sides expressed conviction that the activities of the Friendship Groups would more develop the existing effective cooperation.

Directions where it is possible to cooperate and record successes are numerous: at the end of the meeting the interlocutors expressed confidence.
