On February 12, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings by voting passing the bills debated on the previous day.

The parliament continued the debate of the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Local Self-Government authored by the RA NA deputies Sergey Bagratyan, Vardan Vardanyan, Tigran Stepanyan, Hrant Madatyan, Davit Manukyan, Janibek Hayrapetyan, Sona Ghazaryan.

Naira Zohrabyan presented the viewpoint of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction and said that the Faction would vote for the draft law.

Afterwards the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Local Self-Government was debated in the first reading.

The position of the RA Government on the draft law was also positive. A group of MPs delivered a speech, and their opinions were controversial.

Gevorg Gorgisyan expressed the positive position of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction.

Naira Zohrabyan presented the viewpoint of the RA NA My Step Faction.

In his final speech the RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Vache Terteryan has informed that there is a need of amendment in several provisions.

In her speech the key speaker Ani Samsonyan touched upon the voiced concerns, expressed readiness to study and accept the recommendations.

The parliament in the first reading debated the package of the draft laws on Making Addendum to the law on Local Self-Government authored by the Government.

The deputy Vahe Ghalumyan presented the endorsements of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment.

The parliament debated the bill on Making Addendum to the law on Advertisement authored by the RA NA deputy Artur Hovhannisyan in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Vache Terteryan expressed the positive opinion of the government.

In his final speech the RA NA deputy Artur Hovhannisyan touched upon the voiced concerns.

Hovik Aghazaryan presented the endorsement of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

The parliament in the second reading debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Water Users’ Companies and the Unions of Water Users’ Companies authored by the RA NA deputy Mikayel Melkumyan.

The National Assembly debated in the first reading the draft laws on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Law on Education, on Amending the RA law on Preliminary Professional and Secondary Professional Education authored by the RA NA deputies Naira Zohrabyan, Harutyun Babayan.

Hovhannes Hovhannsiyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee and informed that the legislative package was multilaterally debated.

The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan presented the negative opinion of the Government.

In their concluding speeches Arayik Harutyunyan and Mkhitar Hayrapetyan answered to the MPs’ voiced questions.

At the last sitting of the day, in accordance with the RA Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure, the members of the Government answered to the deputies’ questions.

The parliament will continue the work on February 13.
