First Sitting of Armenian Side of Armenia-Netherlands Friendship Framework Held

On January 24, the first sitting of the Armenian side of Armenia-Netherlands Friendship Framework was held co-chaired by the RA NA Vice President Alen Simonyan and the RA Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Tigran Balayan.

The NA Vice President reminded that the Friendship Framework was formed in October 2019 during the official visit of the RA NA President Ararat Mirzoyan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its aim is to promote the deepening of political, economic, educational and cultural relations between the two countries.

Highlighting this platform of cooperation the NA Vice President has informed that the official visit of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands is designed in April.

According to Alen Simonyan, the opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Armenia will promote the implementation of different programmes in Armenia. In this context he stressed the implementation of different united initiatives in the spheres of film industry and culture.

The participants of the sitting exchanged ideas over the possible ways of bilateral cooperation. The deputy Naira Zohrabyan emphasized particularly the adoption of the law on Cinema and the ratification of Media component of Creative Europe programme. He has also informed that Armenian Animal Lovers' organization is already registered in the Netherlands which will help to create asylums for stray animals in Armenia and the implementation of the works to be rendered by different services.

The participants of the sitting also attached importance to the development of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of agriculture, as well as the holding of cultural events and the necessity of information exchange.

Ambassador Balayan urged the members of the Armenian side of the Friendship Framework to work out and present initiatives aimed at the implementation of the joint programmes.
