Items on Cinema Sphere Debated in Committee

On December 26, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, Committee members Anna Kostanyan and Artur Manukyan hosted the members of the NGO Independent Filmmakers’ Community of Armenia (IFCA) and the Golden Apricot Fund for Cinema Development (GAFCD). They, as well as, Kinoostrov Cinema Company Founder and Director General, Producer Armen Adilkhanyan worked out proposals of three legislative initiatives, which in future should become as a basis for the RA draft law on Cinema.

An open and sincere debate was held on cinema sphere: a decision was made that the Working Group comprised of lawyers, and already on February 10 would submit to the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport the proposal of the legislative initiative, and the Committee members would work on it.

According to Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, any good thought, idea or provision that can develop the cinema sphere will not remian out of the draft law, as the goal of all sides is having a good law on Cinema.
