On November 21, the members of the RA NA My Step faction Hamazasp Danielyan, Sos Avetisyan, Taguhi Ghazaryan and the deputy RA NA Bright Armenia faction Karen Simonyan met with the citizens to discuss the amendments to the RA Law on Political Parties, to listen to their opinions and observations.

Hamazasp Danielyan, Head of the Electoral Reform Working Group, presented the concept of the amendments to the Law on Parties. The MP noted that successful discussions were held in Gyumri and Vanadzor as well, and such meetings would be of a continuous nature.

Aghasi Yesayan, an expert at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, presented the regulations on party registration, financing, democracy and oversight.

After the MPs' speeches, citizens asked questions about restrictions on party membership, changing thresholds for party funding, encouraging equal participation of women and men in the parties, forming local self-government bodies and calling back the community leaders.

The meeting was organized with the support of the International Republican Institute.
