Meeting at RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations

On November 7, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan and the Committee member Tatevik Hayrapetyan met with the delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Jamali Nobandegani.

Welcoming the guests Ruben Rubinyan has noted that Iran is the most important state and partner for Armenia. In this context the Committee Chair underlined the necessity of the activation of the inter-parliamentary contacts.

During the meeting issues on the development of the Armenian-Iranian parliamentary cooperation, as well as the settlement of the regional problems and conflicts were discussed.

The parliamentarians emphasized the security and the establishment of stable peace in the region.

Speaking about the settlement of Karabakh conflict Ruben Rubinyan presented the position of the Armenian side related to the settlement of the issue and emphasized the efforts being made exclusively for the peaceful settlement of the issue.

Mohammad Javad Jamali Nobandegani has noted that they observe the events going on in Armenia and positively assess the changes being made after the revolution.

At the end of the meeting the sides highlighted the role of the two countries’ parliamentarians regarding the activation of cooperation in different spheres.
