On November 7, the regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs which moderated Vladimir Vardanyan was held.
The packge of bills on making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Criminal Code authored by the Government was debated in the first reading.
The RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan and the RA deputy Nazeli Baghdasaryan expressed their viewpoints on the package of bills.
The Committee Chair Vladimir Vardanyan presented a number of proposals. The package of bills was endorsed by the Committee.
The draft laws on Making Addendum to the RA Law on the RA Criminal Procedure and on Bank Secrecy authored by the government were presented.
The RA NA deputy Suren Grigoryan urged the Committee to endorse the draft law and presented a number of proposals, and the great part was accepted by the representative of the executive body.
The bill on Making Addendum to the RA Family Code authored by a number of MPs of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction proposes to fix the Code and ban the registration of the same gender marriage.
The NA deputy Gevorg Petrosyan has noted that the problem of the national traditions’ preservation is on the basis of the draft law.
The Committee Chair proposed the MPs to vote against the draft law, considering it anti-constitutional.
The RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Janna Andreasyan informed the attendees that the Government gave negative conclusion to the draft law. The Committee gave negative conclusion to the draft law.
The sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs will be continued on November 8, at 10:00.
