On November 1, the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration moderated by Mikayel Melkumyan discussed issues on the possibilities of the use procedure of the inter-state loan directed to the re-equipment of the NPP of the Republic of Armenia by the Russian Federation, the further perspectives and the loan extension.

The RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hakob Vardanyan presented the history of the inter-state loan directed to the re-equipment of the NPP of Armenia by the RF and noted that it was provided in 2015.

As a result of preliminary discussions, the Russian side expressed willingness to extend the use term, but had not answered yet about the postponement of the loan cover schedule.

The Committee Chair Mikayel Melkumyan and the Committee members addressed questions to the Deputy Minister and those responsible for the sphere: they related to the possibility of the electricity tariff change, the construction of the new substation of the NPP, the security of the radioactive waste distribution, the accounting of the loan percentages, etc.

The Armenian MPs have highlighted the organization of similar discussions, underlining that during which it is possible to get informed and discuss important issues for the country.
