On October 28, the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received the Silver Winner of the U20 World Chess Championship Hayk Sargsyan.
The RA NA deputy Artak Manukyan also attended the meeting.
The Committee Chair congratulated the young grandmaster for wonderful play and wished him new successes.
Let us remind that in the World Championship held in India Shant Sargsyan earned 8.5 points out of 11 points, only being behind the Ukraine chess player by half point, another grandmaster of Armenian origin Aram Hakobyan earned 8 points.
Three weeks ago the Armenian young people again registered the same result: in this case Artur Davtyan won bronze medal in the U18 World Youth Chess Championship.
