A Group of Schoolchildren of Yerevan and Gegharkunik Marz Visit Parliament in the Framework of RA NA Open Lesson Programme

On October 22, in the framework of the RA NA Open Lesson programme the pupils and teachers of Lev Tolstoy N 128 Basic School of the capital visited the parliament. They were in the NA Museum, observed the work of the regular sittings and got familiarized with the happenings.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan conducted the Open Lesson. He presented to the schoolchildren the structure of the parliament, the procedure, the revision, the debate and the adoption of the legislative initiatives. In the development of the international relations the Chair of the Standing Committee highlighted the role and the significance of the parliamentary diplomacy. Arman Yeghoyan also talked about the activity of the European organizations, such as the OSCE PA, the European Parliament and the Minsk Group.

He considered important the fact of calling into life Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Agreement, which would give an opportunity to improve the justice system, the sphere of police and a number of spheres of economy.

The pupils’ questions referred to the modern equipment of the school laboratories, the integration of computers into the classroom, the purposefulness of the general education 12-year system, the waste removal and the waste assortment.

Arman Yeghoyan wished the children high advancement and devotion to Motherland.

On the same day the pupils and pedagogues of the schools of Noratus and Gandzak communities of Gegharkunik Marz visited the National Assembly. The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment Varazdat Karapetyan and the deputy of My Step Faction Taguhi Tovmasyan held the regular Open lesson.

The meeting went on in Q & A session.

The Chair of the Standing Committee advised the pupils to be guided by the dictate of their own hearts while choosing profession. Noting that through internet and social networks the people become controllable he also urged them to more contact with land and nature. The MP touched upon the procedure of the legislative reforms of different spheres, stressed the necessity of becoming a country of law. According to him, in that case on the threshold of entering into life the schoolchildren will have an opportunity to realize their creative talent.

Varazdat Karapetyan also talked about the importance of the parliamentary government.

As Taguhi Tovmasyan has assured, it is necessary to build a country, where the human rights will be permanently protected. The MP advised them not to fear the difficulties, accept the challenges of life, overcome the obstacles and reach their goal. Regarding the parliamentary activity, she has noted that MP’s mission is to provide a direct link between the people and the executive body. According to her, the representative of the legislative body should map the problems and show the ways of its solution.

The pupils’ questions related to the problems of the provision of the school heating of some communities, the furnishing of classrooms, technical refurbishing, education of Gegharkunik Marz.

Taguhi Tovmasyan urged the pupils to read books and printing press.
