National Assembly Continues Work of Regular Sittings

On October 2, the parliament continued the work of the regular sittings, by voting passing the legislative initiatives debated on the previous day.

Afterwards the bill on Making Addenda to the RA Law on Lotteries authored the MPs Alen Simonyan, Sipan Pashinyan and Naira Zohrabyan was debated in the second reading.

The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Armen Hayrapetyan presented the positive position of the government.

The MPs in the first reading debated the bill on Amending the RA Law on Minimum Monthly Salary authored by Varazdat Karapetyan, Babken Tunyan and Narek Zeynalyan.

In their speeches the MPs underlined the importance of the draft law, touched upon the methodology of the minimum consumption basket, the specification of the minimum salary and the control mechanisms.

Presenting the viewpoint of the RA NA My Step Faction Babken Tunyan informed that hot debates were held on the draft law.

In his extraordinary speech the RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan touched upon the economic and social factors of the issue, the behavioral economy theory and textbook definitions. The Head of the legislative body noted that we should bravely approach the issue, vote for it and raise the minimum salary.

The Chair of the Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs Narek Zeynalyan documented that after passing the draft law anybody working in Armenia will not get salary low from the minimum consumption basket.

In his final speech the MP Varazdat Karapetyan has noted that the adoption of the draft law is one more step for calling into life the ideas of My Step Alliance pre-electoral programme.

The parliament in the second reading debated the draft law on the RA draft law on making Addenda and Amendment to the RA Labor Code authored by the MPs Narek Zeynalyan, Heriknaz Tigranyan and Lusine Badalyan.

Afterwards the NA debated the RA draft law on Amending the RA Law on State Property Privatization Programme for 2017-2020. The MPs' questions related to the activity of the medical institution and the rise of the work efficiency.

Babken Tunyan has noted that the presented substantiations are rather persuasive, and the institution is not a burden for the state.

The RA Deputy Minister of Health Care Hovhannes Harutyunyan presented the negative position of the Government on the initiative.

The Deputy Minister called on to vote for the incomplete and not full initiative.

The representatives of the factions presented their viewpoints on the initiative.

Arman Abovyan presented the viewpoint of the Prosperous Armenia Faction.

The Head of My Step faction Lilit Makunts presented the position of the faction, informing the attendees that they would vote freely.

The parliament in the first reading debated the draft law on Amending the RA Law Customs Service authored by the Government and the enclosed package of the draft laws, which presented the RA Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Artak Manukyan presented the endorsement of the Committee. The MP urged the participants to vote for it.

The bill on Amending the Law on Accumulative Pensions authored by the MP Gevorg Papoyan was debated in the second reading.

Then the draft law on Accounting and the enclosed draft laws was debated in the first reading presented by the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan.

The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Yeghishe Soghomonyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The parliament will continue the work on October 3.

At the last sitting, according to the RA Constitutional Law the NA Rules of Procedure, the members of the government answered the deputies' questions.
