Armenia Elected Presiding Country of Partnership of Secretaries General of Parliaments of Eastern Partnership Countries

On September 27, in the RA National Assembly the Fourth Meeting of the Secretaries General of Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries was held, where the Secretaries General of Parliaments of Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, representatives from the Staffs and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation).

Welcoming his colleagues in the Armenian Parliament, the RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Tigran Galstyan has expressed with regret that not all Secretaries General of the member countries of the organization attend the Annual Meeting.

Highlighting the necessity of the Meeting in the similar format Tigran Galstyan assured that it would promote the development of the partnership countries.

The RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General touched upon the circle of items to be discussed.

The Secretary General of the Parliament of Georgia Givi Mikanadze presented the Annual Report of cooperation of the Secretaries General of Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries for 2018-2019.

Summing up the financial year the speaker particularly touched upon the website eap-sg.net research network of the Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries, informing that it gives opportunity to pass information, ideas and the best experience of common interest with his colleagues within short terms. The information on the activities of the structure is posted on the website.

According to Givi Mikanadze, Georgia was elected presiding country of the Secretaries General of Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries for one year period, which will end in October of this year, thus, he proposed that in 2019-2020 Armenia assumes the chairmanship of the organization.

The proposal of the Secretary General of the Parliament of Georgia was unanimously accepted.

Thanking for the trust and support the RA NA Chief of Staff-Secretary General Tigran Galstyan expressed readiness for cooperation, presenting the vision of the organization’s further activity.

The guests accompanied by Tigran Galstyan took a tour in the National Assembly building, were in the Session Hall and visited the Parliament Museum.
