On September 24, at the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration at Mikayel Melkumyan’s initiative the procedures of the car import from January 1 were discussed again. The Committee members, representatives of the State Revenue Committee, the Ministry of Finance, as well as the car importing legal organizations and the individuals took part in the meeting.
The Committee Chair Mikayel Melkumyan called on the colleagues to mitigate the EEU regulations on importing cars from the third country by one more year.
The RA Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan is against the idea of exempting from VAT the car importing legal entity on the border.
The participants of the discussion voiced their concerns over the created situation, documenting that the level of unemployment would increase in that way. The MP Mikayel Melkumyan urged the executive body to develop the car industry in the country for mitigating the created situation.
