On September 14, the President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan received the delegation of the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of France led by the Deputy Chair of France-Armenia Friendship, the Chairman of France-Artsakh Friendship Circle Guy Teissier.

The NA deputies of France – the Founder of France-Artsakh Friendship Circle Valérie Boyer, the members of France-Artsakh Friendship Circle Danièle Cazarian and Mohamed Laqhila, the deputies Jean-Pierre Cubertafon, Guillaume Kasbarian, the representative of the Communist Party Pierre Ouzoulias were in the delegation.

The NA President has expressed his gratitude to the French deputies for their principality of going to Artsakh in these days, noting that this support is very important for us.

The Head of the French delegation and the deputies shared their impressions of Artsakh.

Guy Teissier has noted that it is important for them to see on the spot how the people of Artsakh live. “It has been important for us to see the progress of this small country. While talking with people we have received evidence that they want to peacefully live on their land with strong borders, and even they are ready to die for that. And this is what we have heard, and it is completely perceivable,” Teissier said.

The members of France-Artsakh Friendship Circle have noted that irrespective the threats from Baku they will visit Artsakh, having the goal to support the peaceful settlement process of the issue, and they hope Artsakh will be internationally recognized.

Guy Teissier has noted that France supports the democratic reforms going on in Armenia. The Head of the French delegation and the President of the RA National Assembly talked about more deepening the parliamentary cooperation and the cooperation in the OSCE.

During the exchange of thoughts the French deputies addressed questions to the President of the RA National Assembly about the ongoing reforms in Armenia.
