Problems of Eurasian and Regional Integration Discussed at the Sitting

On September 3, the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration moderated by Mikayel Melkumyan convened a regular sitting.

By the decision of the RA Government the bill on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Goods Signs to be debated in the second reading was postponed.

Eurasian and regional integration problems were discussed with the participation of the RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan, the RA Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the EEU and regional countries at the Committee.

In terms of parliamentary control the Committee Chair highlighted the holding of similar debates and underlined that they would be of continuous character.

The RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan, the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Ruben Sadoyan, the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Vardan Toghanyan and the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Islamic Republic of Iran Artashes Tumanyan answered the MPs’ questions, which related to the regional economic integration problems, our compatriots’ protection of rights, the end of some privileges given to our country conditioned by the EEU membership and the opportunity of getting consensus of continuing the privilege, etc.

The participants considered necessary to voice the issues concerning the elimination of the obstacles in the EEU united market during the parliamentary contacts. In the debate the Ambassadors’ role in the important issues for our country was touched upon.
