Vahe Grigoryan Elected RA Constitutional Court Judge

On June 18, the RA National Assembly began the work of the regular sittings. The RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan informed that the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) presented the Protocol 3 on providing to the next candidate the mandate of the deputy who was elected deputy of the National Assembly and stopped earlier the deputy’s authorities, according to which, the deputy’s mandate is given to the next candidate of the all-national electoral list of My Step parties’ alliance Artur Hovhannisyan.

According to the law, the deputy was sworn in at the sitting.

The parliament debated the item on including the legislative initiatives that received negative conclusions on the NA Session agenda.

The deputies approved the agendas of the second session of the RA NA seventh convocation and regular sittings, after which initiated the debate of the agenda items.

Under the constitutional law the NA Rules of Procedure, the parliament touched upon the item of the election of the Constitutional Court Judge. The RA NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan informed that the RA President nominated Vahe Grigoryan for being elected in that vacant office.

The RA President’s Chief of Staff Emil Tarasyan informed that the RA President nominated Vahe Grigoryan as candidate for the CC Judge and presented his biography and working experience.

The deputies Gevorg Petrosyan, Viktor Yengibaryan, Vladimir Vardanyan, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, Lilit Makunts, Lena Nazaryan, Gayane Abrahamyan, Anush Begloian, Arman Babajanyan, Suren Grigoryan, Hayk Knojoryan, Taron Simonyan, Arman Abovyan, Alen Simonyan presented their viewpoints on the nominated candidacy .

In his final speech Vahe Grigoryan presented his concerns on the deputies’ interpellations.

The bills on Amending the RA Law on Consumer’s Crediting, on Amending the RA Law on the Programme of the State Property Privatization for 2017-2020, on Making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law Diplomatic Service, on Making Addendum to the RA Law on the RA Holidays and Memorials, on Amending the RA Tax Code, on Pardoning the Penalties Applied for a Number Administrative Offences and State Duty, on Amending the RA Law on Licensing, on Making Addenda and Amendments to the RA Water Code, as well as on Making Addenda and Amendments to the Law on Advertisement and on Amending the RA Law on Consumer’s Crediting.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker Lena Nazaryan presiding over the sitting informed that by the demand of at least one quarter of the NA deputies’ general number the NA Investigative Committee was created by force of law to make a matter of consideration the activity of the Water Committee of the RA MEINR, its structural sub-units and the PIA of the Water Committee of the RA MEINR in Ararat and Armavir marzes, its substantiation and the problems. By the presentation of the member of the Committee Initiating Group Tsovinar Vardanyan, the deputies debated the NA draft decision on establishing the number of the structure members.

According to the Chair of the RA NA Accounting Committee Vahagn Hovakimyan, as a result of secret ballot, with 99 for and 22 against Vahe Grigoryan was elected the CC Judge.

Under Article 124 of the of the constitutional law of the NA Rules of Procedure, at the last sitting the deputies made a statement up to three minutes.

The parliament will continue its work on June 19 at 10:00.
