On June 12, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Vahe Enfiajyan received the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in the South Caucasus Rosaria Puglisi.

The guest has noted that the goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the viewpoints of the parliamentary factions on the ongoing processes in Armenia. Rosaria Puglisi presented the programmes being implemented in the format of the NATO in our country, documenting that they are called into life according to the demand of the given country.

The NA Deputy Speaker highlighted the expansion of cooperation with the NATO in the existing formats, underlining the efficiency of the programmes under implementation. In this context Vahe Enfiajyan has evaluated the implementation of the initiatives at the legislative level, as the parliamentary diplomacy is flexible and has its special role on the RA-NATO cooperation.

Vahe Enfiajyan presented the position of their faction, Prosperous Armenia on the reforms of the justice sphere, the vetting process, the implementation of the economic revolution and the anti-corruption policy.

The NA Vice President opined that the overcoming of the problems should be implemented through comparison in parallel with the recovery of the judicial sphere the government should make efforts for making economic and social crucial changes. In this context the NA Deputy Speaker has highlighted the practical steps aimed at the rise of economic attractiveness, the provision of competiveness in the sphere of energy sub-structures, the revision of the mining policy, the simplification of the procedures and establishment of privileges for the investors, the formation of the free economic zones, the aim of which is the boosting of foreign investments.

Armenia-NATO cooperation directions were also discussed in a number of spheres.

The Head of the RA NA My Step Faction Lilit Makunts also met with the Head of the NATO Liaison Office in the South Caucasus.

Welcoming the guest in the RA National Assembly, the Head of the Faction presented the situation created in Armenia after the velvet revolution, touched upon the challenges of democracy development, the involvement of the civil society in the process of reforms, the anti-corruption strategy and the transitional justice.

Lilit Makunts emphasized the creation of the prevention body of the corruption, as well as having non-corrupted and reliable judicial system.

On the same day the Head of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Edmon Marukyan, the Secretary of the Faction and the member of the RA NA Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Gevorg Gorgisyan met with Rosaria Puglisi.

Edmon Marukyan presented the viewpoint of the Faction on the transitional justice, the application of vetting towards the judges and the economic revolution.

The interlocutors discussed a number of issues regarding Armenia-NATO cooperation.
