Delegation Headed by Ararat Mirzoyan Visits Uppsala

On June 11, the delegation headed by the NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan left for the city of Uppsala in Sweden, first visited Uppsala University Library.

The Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University Anders Malmberg and the Library Director Professor Lars Burman presented the Armenian medieval manuscripts and old print books being kept in the library to the Armenian delegation. The perspectives of cooperation between Uppsala University and Yerevan State University were discussed.

In Uppsala Cathedral elder pastor Annika Aderbrant presented the history of the Cathedral, after which the delegation members left for Uppsala Castle, where they met with the Governor of Uppsala County Göran Enander and his wife Monica Sarstand.

A warm meeting was held in the Castle with the representatives of the Armenian community, during which Ararat Mirzoyan answered the attendees’ numerous questions.

At the end of the day on behalf of the Mayor of Uppsala Eva Edwardsson an official dinner was given on the NA Speaker’s honour.
