Bills on Provision of Information Security, Military Service Discussed

On May 24, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security moderated by Andranik Kocharyan debated the draft law on Ratifying the Agreement on Cooperation of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which presented the Head of the RA National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan.

In response Gevorg Gorgisyan’s question, Artur Vanetsyan has noted that the RF and Belarus have ratified the Agreement, and it is underway in other countries.

Soghomon Soghomonyan highlighted the necessity of the draft law, proposing to give endorsement.

The draft law with the endorsement was proposed to include in the draft law of the agenda of the second session of the RA NA 7th convocation.

The Committe edebated and gave negative conclusion to the RA draft law on Amending the RA Law on Purchases authored by the Secretary of the Bright Armenia Faction Gevorg Gorgisyan.

The deputy of My Step faction Kristine Poghosyan has observed that dissemination of such information can cause grave consequences for the RA security.

The RA First Deputy Minister of Justice Artak Asatryan presented the position of the government.

The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Gabriel Balayan presented to the Committee members the RA draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda the RA Law on Military Service and Serviceman’s Status.

It was proposed to include the draft law with the endorsement in the draft laws of the agenda of the regular sittings and the second session of the RA NA 7th convocation.

The RA draft law on Amending the Law on State Pensions presented by the PAP Faction deputy Tigran Urikhanyan received negative conclusion.

The debate of four draft laws was postponed by two months.
