Visit of NA Armenia-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group to Nur-Sultan

On May 22, the visit of the NA Armenia-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group to Nur-Sultan began. Within the framework of the visit the members of the Friendship Group met with the Deputy Speaker of Mazhilis of the Lower Chamber of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bozhko, the Head of Kazakhstan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of Mazhilis Beibit Mamrayev and the Group members and the representatives of relevant committees.

At the meeting the sides underlined the importance of consistent strengthening of the Armenian-Kazakh relations and the role of the inter-parliamentary diplomacy in that process. The parliamentarians expressed confidence that the activity of the Friendship Group would greatly promote the rapprochement and deepening of Armenia-Kazakhstan relations.

The Head of the Friendship Group Vagharshak Hakobyan touched upon the priorities of bilateral cooperation, the relations in the economic, cultural and other spheres, including the EEU context.

The Chair of the Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration Mikayel Melkumyan underscored the opportunities of economic cooperation expansion.

The Member of the Friendship Group Anush Begloian touched upon the necessity of the implementation of the initiatives promoting the strengthening of friendship between the peoples of Armenia and Kazakhstan.

The Deputy Speaker of Mazhilis Vladimir Bozhko reaffirmed the readiness of the Kazakh side to continue the bilateral cooperation, in that context stressing the necessity of reaching distinct results.

Within the framework of the visit a meeting with the members of Kazakhstan-Armenia Cooperation Group of the Senate of the Upper Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Issues regarding the development of the ties between the parliaments of the two countries were discussed.
