RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs Convenes Regular Sitting

At May 16 sitting, moderated by Narek Zeynalyan the RA NA Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs in the first reading procedure debated the draft law on Making Addendum to the RA Labor Code authored by the deputy of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction Tigran Urikhanyan.

The idea of the addendum was acceptable for the speakers, for example the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arman Udumyan and the Committee Member Heriknaz Tigranyan.

By the speakers’ proposal a decision was made to present a draft law with amended formulation for including it in the draft law of the RA NA upcoming regular sittings’ agenda.

The draft law was endorsed by the Committee.

The package of draft laws on Amending the RA Law on State Pensions and on Making Addendum to the RA Civil Code authored by the Bright Armenia Faction.

According to the speaker Srbuhi Grigoryan, the package has a goal to protect the retired people’s rights.

The opinion of the RA Government on draft law was negative: the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Smbat Saiyan proposed to remove it from circulation.

The position of the other speaker Arpine Davoyan was also not positive on the draft law.

Afterwards the Committee debated the item of Gardasil-4 vaccine efficiency caused great concerns recently among the public.

The Committee Chair Narek Zeynalyan has clarified that the fact of organizing a debate and inviting specialists with opposite viewpoints is conditioned by received letters and the citizens’ concerns.

The Chairman of the Armenian National Healthcare Council NGO Gevorg Grigoryan, the Head Luys Information-Analytical Center Hayk Ayvazyan, the doctor Marina Khachatryan and others presented a number of data on the negative impacts of the vaccine, registered in a number of countries.

The doctor Vahe Ter-Minasyan, the representative of Yerevan State Medical University Arman Badalyan and the responsible representatives of the RA Health Ministry presented data on the positive impact of the vaccine and had opposite viewpoint.

The Committee also listened to the Head of the Health and Labour Inspectorate Edgar Khurshudyan, who informed that several weeks ago the alarm sounded from one of the schools the city of Abovyan the children were obligatory and without the parents’ awareness were vaccinating, was not corresponding to the reality.

Summing up the debate the Committee Chair Narek Zeynalyan thanked the participants for the concerned debate.

Afterwards the Committee made a decision to hold a joint sitting with the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs to debate the current endorsements of the RA Audit Chamber.
