Parliament Continues Work of Regular Sittings

On April 19, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings. The deputies by voting passed the bills debated on the previous day, after which continued the debate of the legislative package on Making Addendum to the RA Law on State Duty and on Making Addendum to the RA Law on Notice of Activity Implementation.

The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Hayk Sargsyan presented the endorsement of the Committee.

The MPs Arman Abovyan, Gevorg Papoyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Arkady Khachatryan, Artur Grigoryan, Sergey Bagratyan, Tsovinar Vardanyan, Mane Tandilyan, Artyom Tsarukyan, Shake Isayan, Sos Avetisyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Sofia Hovsepyan, Hayk Gevorgyan, Hayk Konjoryan, Babken Tunyan, Artur Dallakyan and Hayk Sargsyan delivered speeches on the legislative package.

Edmon Marukyan voiced the viewpoint of the NA Bright Armenia Faction , noting that the Faction will vote against it.

The Head of the NA Prosperous Armenia Faction Gagik Tsarukyan also touched upon some items conditioned by the solutions being proposed with the legislative package, as well as talked about the problems existing in the sphere of agriculture.

The deputy Babken Tunyan presented the viewpoint of the NA My Step Faction and called on his colleagues to vote for the amendments being proposed in this phase.

In their final speeches the member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Hayk Sargsyan and the RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan referred to some disputable speeches sounded by the deputies, expressing readiness for cooperating and elaborating from the first to the second reading.

As a result of voting, the legislative package was passed in the first reading with 78 for and 42 against votes.

Afterwards the package of bills on Amending the RA Law on Identity Cards and on Amending the RA Law on the RA Citizen’s Passport was debated in the first reading.

The RA Deputy Head of Police Hovhannes Kocharyan presented in the first reading the bill on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Law on Police.

The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Armen Khachatryan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee.

The deputies in the first reading also debated the bill on Making Amendment and Addenda to the RA Law on Provision of Road Traffic Security and the package comprised of 12 More Bills.

The member of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs Artur Davtyan presented the endorsement of the Committee and urged his colleagues to vote for the initiative.

Afterwards the parliament debated the Item of Appointing the Chairman of the RA State Commission for the Protection of Economic Protection (SCPEC).

The NA Deputy Speaker Alen Simonyan informed his colleagues that the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan proposed Gegham Gevorgyan’s candidacy in this post.

The candidate thanked the Head of the executive body for proposing his candidacy in such responsible post and shown confidence.

Exchange of thoughts took place.

The MPs Sergey Bagratyan, Edmon Marukyan, Gevorg Papoyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Viktor Yengibaryan, Vagharshak Hakobyan and Arman Babajanyan presented their viewpoints on the candidate.

The deputy Anna Karapetyan presented the positive opinion of the RA NA My Step Faction on the candidate.

In his final speech the candidate answered the deputies’ questions, noting his willingness for fighting against defective phenomena existing in the sphere.

The secret ballot for the SCPEC Chair will be held at RA NA April 22 sitting.
